"From my very first day as an Intern 15 years ago, I have felt that LP&P treats career development with as much importance as client service. I've done my best to embody this approach as I devote significant energy to coaching and mentoring LP&P's talented PR professionals as an important underpinning not only to the agency's top-notch service, but also its exceptional employee retention."

Training & Development Programs

LP&P believes that ongoing training and development programs are critical in helping employees hone their PR and management skills and grow professionally. They are also the foundation for providing outstanding service to our clients. Our internal training and development programs include:

New Employee Orientation: Getting started at LP&P includes a comprehensive orientation process so that new employees are informed and confident, including a series of structured training sessions during the employees first week.

The Buddy Program: To help new employees ease into their jobs, LP&P offers the “Buddy Program.” This program assigns a “buddy” to a new employee to help them become familiar with the LP&P basics such as corporate procedures, technical systems, and available resources.

PR 101 Training: Internal PR sessions are offered to the entire PR staff by LP&P vice presidents and managers. The goal of each session is to provide a comprehensive overview of subjects such as press relations, investor relations, media training and proactive pitching along with helpful tips and insights to help employees do their jobs more effectively.

Peer Training: Peer training is an ongoing series of interactive brainstorming sessions coordinated and attended by all account representatives. These sessions focus on a variety of topics ranging from writing pitches to managing your workload. They also offer our PR employees an opportunity to share information across account teams and reinforce LP&P’s "best practices."

Manager Workshops: At least once each quarter, LP&P offers workshops called “Manager’s Roundtables” specifically geared to helping our managers refine their skills and learn from each other to become better managers. LP&P principal Lois Paul chairs these regular meetings to understand managers’ unique concerns, help resolve issues and improve team and overall agency effectiveness.

Management Training: LP&P frequently sends new managers to a two-day, offsite management training workshop where they learn and practice critical management skills, as well as learn about their own management style and how to effectively lead and manage teams.

The Mentor Program: The LP&P Mentor Program teams employees with higher-level people on a voluntary, confidential basis. Mentors serve as a valued resource for employees offering additional support, career guidance, and advice.
